Idli Dosa Mix

South Indian dishes are my favorite and specially idli's and dosa's. Now days you get Idli dosa batter every where in the market but buying it from the market, i really don't like it. I prefer homemade idli dosa batter. Its so easy to make and takes no time and effort.

Ingredient
  • 3 cups Idli rice
  • 1 cup whole Urad dal/ Ulundhu (no skin variety)
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste

Method
  1. Mix idli rice and urad dal. Soak it into water for 3-4 hours.
  2. Now drain out the water and grind it using mixer. Add water slowly as needed.
  3. Sprinkle water as needed and grind the batter till the proper consistency is reached.
  4. Batter should be light and nice fluffy. Add salt to it and mix it well.
  5. Now keep the batter aside in a warm place to ferment well for at least 10-12 hours. After that you will see Idli dosa batter have raised well almost doubles the quantity. Now its ready to use.
